As of April 4, 2017, it will be necessary to have authorization from the SAT, of the Sectoral Registers 14 “Steel” and 15 “Steel Products” of Annex 10 of the Foreign Trade Rules, to be able to import steel to Mexico, which contemplates: the 123 and 80 tariff fractions subject to this registry
This is a new requirement, which, in compliance with the permit notifications by the Ministry of Economy, makes imports of products from this sector a very restricted, controlled and specialized activity, considered by some Customs Agencies as sensitive operations
